PSA Card Packaging Guidelines

Please take a moment to review these Guidelines. To ensure faster turnaround times and better image quality, please follow the instructions. If you are dropping your cards off at our store in Roermond, follow steps 1 & 2 of the guidelines. We take care of the packaging and shipping to PSA.

We will apply a 5% processing and handling charge to any order that includes incorrect packaging. For example, top loaders, hard snap or magnetic cases, tabs, sticky notes, writing or numbers, or opaque penny sleeves. To avoid these charges and ensure smooth processing, we kindly request that you strictly adhere to our posted instructions.

Step 1

Place each card into a clear penny sleeve. Do not use solid or opaque sleeves, which can cause delays. Slide each sleeved card into a semi-rigid holder (Ex. Card Saver I®). Make sure both sides are fully visible. Do not use pull tabs, tape, or sticky notes.

PSA maintains a strict policy requiring the use of semi-rigid holders (such as Card Saver I) for all submissions.

Please note that top loaders and screw-down holders are strictly prohibited, as they cause significant processing delays. Even for thicker cards, you must utilize an appropriately sized semi-rigid OR an approved alternative holder for thick cards only, such as a snap or magnetic; NO top loaders will be accepted.

Step 2

When packaging the items for shipment, please make sure to place the items in the same order they are listed on your Online Submission Center confirmation page.

Items not submitted in the correct order will result in a 5% service charge on your order and longer processing time.

Step 3

Place all your items in between two slightly larger pieces cardboard. Hold the package together with rubber bands. Ensure that the rubber bands are not too tight. They should be just tight enough to hold the cardboard pieces together and prevent the items from falling out.

CAUTION: If packed too tightly, the items inside may get damaged.

Step 4

Protect the items with packing material such as bubble wrap or other shipping/packing material.

Step 5

Pack the items in a new, sturdy cardboard box along with your Online Submission Center confirmation pages. Do not re-use old boxes. If using Styrofoam pellets to pack the items, please be sure the items are kept together in some manner, so they are not scattered about the box when it is opened.

Make sure that they are not packed too tightly. This may cause damage if mishandled.

Use colored packing tape or security tape to completely seal all edges on the outside of the box. Do not use painters tape, scotch tape, or tape that has been previously used.
